Since it's often difficult to decide where to donate money, clothes, time, etc., we thought we'd post a list of some of the organizations we support. Most organizations will accept cash, check, or even credit card donations, and many accept online donations too.

Here are some initial links to get this page going:

	American Red Cross, Santa Clara Valley Chapter ...because they're always there when you need them.
	Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties Rallying community resources to assist people who are hungry in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. There are many organizations that take food donations, but we prefer to donate cash to Second Harvest, because they are able to purchase large amounts of high quality, nutritious foods through their bulk food purchasing program for a fraction of the supermarket cost. Donating food you've already bought is one thing, but buying food in the store specifically to give away is not a good use of your money. Please consider donating cash instead to Second Harvest (or another similar organization).
	Silicon Valley Habitat for Humanity Habitat brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing. Habitat's goal is to eliminate poverty housing. Habitat houses are sold with no profit made. Homeowners contribute "sweat equity," and house payments are recycled to build additional houses.
	Sunnyvale Community Services Provides emergency shelter, food and clothing for low-income individuals/families, seniors and disabled residents. Telephone (408) 738-4321 or Email svcommserv@aol.com.
