Barcelona, Spain:

On the plane, Barcelona-bound! We left Saturday morning, flying SFO to Chicago, Chicago to Paris, and Paris to Barcelona, arriving mid-day on Sunday.

The first stop in our jet-lagged state was Gaudi's Sagrada Familia.

A view of the outside; unfortunately our lens was just not wide-angle enough to capture the entire place.

A close-up showing more detail.

Here's a view of the interior; as you can see, construction is still not complete.

Our Palm table at the welcome reception Sunday evening.

Some flaming spanish drink.

Live music (don't you hate it when the flash washes out the subtle colors of the picture?).

Here's a view of our incredible room at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Arts in Barcelona.

A fantastic sunset over the water, as seen from our room.

Monday we went on a tour of the Cava (sparkling wine) Caves of Codorníu.

View of the outside of another of the main buildings.

View of the inside of the building in the previous picture.

A little wider inside view of the same building.

A taller inside view of the same building.

Another neat building outside with a cool tower.

View of the automated bottling machinery.

This picture tries to show the incredible feast we were treated to after our Cava Cave tour, at a restaurant called "The Crazy Crab".

As dog owners, we found this illustrated Spanish "clean up after your dog" sign absolutely hilarious.

Audra in front of a "live statue" on the Ramblas. We have no idea how these people stand SO still, but they only move when poeople drop money in their hat.

Steve in front of another couple of statue "performers".

Overview of the castle where Monday night's dinner was held.

A mariachi band provided entertainment at the castle party.

Here we are squinting into the sun in front of the castle.

Pre-dinner entertainment also included a group of people who build human "towers".

Steve knocks on the front door of the castle, but nobody answered.

After dinner, we went for a stroll in the moonlit grounds.

An overview of Barcelona and Sagrada Familia (center) taken from Mont Juic.

The final night of the conference was the awards dinner ceremony. Once more, an evening of fabulous food, combined with a seemingly endless stream of patent awards.

The seven Palm representatives at the awards ceremony.

The ceremony ran so late there wasn't much time for dancing afterwards. We had an early flight the next morning so we stopped for one last picture and headed off to bed.
